ASHLEY CHARRON - MOUNT HOPE CENTRE FOR LONG TERM CARE
I perform over 200 shows per year, mainly in retirement, long term care and memory care homes. These performances can be done in person or virtually, as I have a studio in my home which allows me to bring music of the highest quality into your facility. I am available to perform for any size group and I am happy to provide one on one music sessions. You tell me what you're looking for and I will work with you to make your musical dream a reality.
Any function, any sized event, any sized band, we can make it happen.
In addition to performing at Retirement, Long Term Care and Memory Care homes, I am also a touring and studio musician.
In 2002, I founded my country band, The Rizdales, with my husband, Tom, and for over 21 years we have been writing and performing across North America. We have released 7 studio albums, 1 live album, won numerous awards and been nominated for many more but what we're most proud of are the two beautiful and incredibly musical children we're raising, our son Jack and our daughter Annie. They are wonderful, talented people who are forging their own paths in music.
In 2023 I partnered up with my friend Lindsay Schindler, a fellow fiddler, to form Maggie's Wake, a celtic folk band. It's an absolute joy playing with Lindsay and our bandmates Andrew Kosty and Ken Palmer. Together we're blending our wide array of musical influences to create something new in the folk music world. Plus I'm getting lots of opportunity to play my tin whistle and Irish flute, which I have been playing since I was just a little girl. Maggie's Wake released our debut album in March 2024 and have been performing in Canada and U.S to wonderfully receptive audiences and to finish off the year on a high note, in late 2024 we were nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award for Best Emerging Artist.
In my many years as a professional musician I have performed with many wonderful artists such as Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Wanda Jackson, Canadian roots hero Luther Wright, Texas legends Johnny Bush, Dale Watson and the Derailers and folk music icon Sylvia Tyson.
But the truth is, I am most happy sharing music with anyone who is willing to join me on the journey.
